TURBOMECANICA at International Paris Air Show 2017
Between 19th and 25th of June 2017 took place the 52nd edition of the fair that brought together 2381 exhibitors from 48 countries. In the first four days, the event was dedicated to aerospace professionals and, starting with Friday, July 23rd, the gates of the fair were open to the general public.
The Romanian Aeronautical Industry was proudly represented by TURBOMECANICA which participated with its own booth located in Hall 6 B11.
TURBOMECANICA had the honor to meet with the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense and Chief of Armaments Department, MR Florin Lazar Vladica, who participated at the main event on Tuesday, 20th of June 2017, respectively the signing, in the presence of many distinguished guests, of the “Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)” between TURBOMECANICA and SAFRAN HELICOPTER ENGINES. The document refers to the collaboration of TURBOMECANICA and SAFRAN HELICOPTER ENGINES in the “Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO)” program for Makila 1A1 engine, which equips the AIRBUS H215 helicopter.
On this occasion, TURBOMECANICA’s representative MR Serban Vasilescu, Technical & Conformity Director stated for Hot News and TVR 1 News:
„It is a very important moment for TURBOMECANICA and for the entire Romanian Aeronautical Industry because it will ensure the Ministry of National Defense that they can repair in Romania the engines and mechanical assemblies of the new H215 helicopter that Romanian Army intends to buy and to replace the existing Puma helicopters.
We have been collaborating with these two companies, SAFRAN HELICOPTER ENGINES and AIRBUS HELICOPTERS, for 40 years, and we have started with manufacturing these engines and mechanical helicopter assembly. We are considering that this repairing agreement is only the beginning and in the future we want to be strongly involved in the fabrication of these models.”
Of a great significance was to receive, in TURBOMECANICA’s booth, the visit of the delegation of the MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENCE – GENERAL STAFF and the delegation of the ROMANIAN AIR FORCE STAFF.
