Between May 22–24, 2024, the 9th edition of the International Exhibition dedicated to defense, national security, and the national industry — Black Sea Defence and Aerospace (BSDA) 2024 — took place in Bucharest, at the ROMAERO Băneasa platform.

The BSDA exhibition served as a meeting point for leading regional defense experts and decision-makers with global industry leaders — manufacturers of cutting-edge defense and security technologies and innovations.

The event brought together representatives from the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Department for Export Control – ANCEX, Ministry of Justice, Romanian Intelligence Service, Special Telecommunications Service, National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications, and the Romanian Employers’ Association of Military Equipment Manufacturers. It provided a platform for meetings with both domestic and international companies.

Engagements with top-tier industry players as well as emerging companies, thousands of international delegates, and tens of thousands of visitors took place at this international exhibition, which hosted over 400 companies from 31 countries.

Romania’s position as a member state of the European Union and NATO — a pillar of regional stability and a significant security provider in Southeastern Europe — once again highlights the strategic importance of TURBOMECANICA within the national defense industry.

At this edition, TURBOMECANICA participated under the umbrella of A.R.I.E. – the Romanian Helicopter Industry Association, alongside our partners from Romania’s aviation industry.

We were honored to welcome a number of important visitors to our booth, including:

• The Ministry of Defense delegation from Serbia, led by Brigadier General Slavka Rakić, Deputy Head of the General Armaments Directorate;
• From Honeywell Aerospace Technologies | Defense & Space International, Mr. Andy McIntyre, Sales Director – Engines, Power Systems, Wheels & Brakes;
• A delegation from the Romanian Air Force General Staff, led by Major General Leonard-Gabriel Baraboi, Chief of the Air Force General Staff, and Commander Cristian Pătrașcu, Deputy for Resources;
• Representatives from various military units operating the PUMA helicopter and the IAR 99 Șoim aircraft;
• A delegation from Avioane Craiova S.A., led by General Director Victor Munteanu.

TURBOMECANICA’s participation at this year’s BSDA event led to the identification of new opportunities, the creation of long-term relationships and partnerships, and the strengthening of existing collaborations.

Thus, TURBOMECANICA reaffirms its position as a center of excellence for Romania’s defense industry.
