TURBOMECANICA at Farnborough International AirShow 2022
Between July 18-22, 2022, TURBOMECANICA delegation traveled to the United Kingdom (Farnborough) – in order to participate in the large-scale international show – Farnborough International Airshow 2022
FIA 2022 was an event where over 1500 exhibitors from all over the world were present. In the 10,000 m2 exhibition space, visitors and exhibitors alike were able to admire aircraft in both static and flying display formats. Over 80,000 visitors attended FIA 2022 over the 5 days. Farnborough International Airshow 2022 hosted leading innovative companies from aerospace, defense and beyond. In this unprecedented opportunity to reconnect, companies from around the world came together to begin a long-lasting collaboration and partnership.
The event also provided insights into key industry issues and concerns. FIA2022 created multiple networking opportunities as it was the place where companies forged new relationships, networked with business partners and met solution and service providers.
Turbomecanica’s main objectives were to promote the TURBOMECANICA brand through face-to-face meetings with leading representatives of the companies present at the event and to identify real opportunities to attract new customers from the aeronautics industry to TURBOMECANICA’s list of partners/suppliers.
The work of the delegation started on July 18 with the opening of the stand in the exhibition area. The same day, in the morning, the event was opened by Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Aerospace Global Forum (a global platform that aims to advocate change and drive immediate action, accelerating the transition to the new economy, net zero) by Prince Charles.
Meetings were held with Collins Aerospace, ITP Aero Spain, Poeton, Aviaco France. Also at FIA 2022, the Turbomecanica delegation resumed the series of meetings with TW Metals, Lincotek, Jalux Inc. Japan – Eurpe Branch.
FIA 2022 continued until Friday, July 22, including booth visits by the TMB delegation to potential partners such as Piaggio Aerospace (VIPER engine repair), MTU, Safran, Magroup (landing gear), MTU, Safran, Magroup (landing gear), and the TMB delegation to the European Aircraft Manufacturers Association (EASA).
In terms of TMB business development for CFM56 component repair business, the participation at FIA 2022 partially had the desired effect for the delegation, as we managed to make close contact with representatives of companies from Asia and the European market for possible contracts. A visible plus of the fair attended by the TMB delegation is the fact that we were present for the general public who need to be constantly aware that we are on the international market as a provider of MRO CFM56 MRO services. In this way, we managed to identify a list of suppliers of materials and machine tools such as Lincotek, Smith Advanced Metals, TW Metals, Chard Precision Castings, FPT Industries S.P.A. (MU manufacturers), etc. Direct contacts were obtained from all potential customers discussed with, with whom we will continue communications in order to succeed in obtaining a first order for CFM 56 components.
The visibility of the Turbomecanica brand in the market has started to increase, especially thanks to the participation in this kind of large-scale events. Representatives of companies in the sector have started to recognize the Turbomecanica name and to take more and more interest in it. The factory’s development opportunities in the civil engine component repair and civil/military component manufacturing markets are largel dictated by the infusion of relationships established with representatives of the companies attending the events. The relationships with visible commercial results are based on the constant presence and permanent dialog between the TMB delegation and potential customers.
