MRO BEER 2022
Between June 15–16, 2022, the TURBOMECANICA delegation traveled to Istanbul, Turkey to participate in the international event MRO BEER, focused on the Southeast Europe region.
MRO BEER was an event attended by over 350 participants (operators, OEMs, and suppliers from the Baltic region and Eastern Europe), featuring 30 speakers and 45 companies from 45 countries. The conferences offered opportunities for the MRO industry to come together, form new partnerships, and strengthen existing relationships. At the same time, MRO BEER provided a platform for exchanging ideas and best practices, sharing experiences, discussing issues and challenges, and gaining valuable knowledge.
The event also offered insights into the key issues and concerns of the industry. MRO BEER created unparalleled networking opportunities, being the place where companies established new connections, reunited with business partners, and met solution and service providers.
The delegation’s activities began with the setup of the booth in the exhibition area. On the same day, the evening reception hosted by LOT Aircraft Maintenance took place. During this reception, initial contacts were made with representatives of companies attending the Istanbul event, including: Aeroplex of Central Europe Ltd., Blue Air, Air Moldova, Heston MRO, and Zina Flight Support.
MRO BEER continued with conference sessions and face-to-face meetings at the booths in the Hilton Bosphorus Hotel Conference Center. Throughout the day, TURBOMECANICA engaged with all companies present at the booths and their representatives. The team also participated in the conference session: MRO: Forecast – Key Trends and Topics for the Region.
Contacts were established with the following companies: GE Aviation, Boeing, SetnaIO, Sabena Technics, Lufthansa Technik, Heston MRO, OMS Aero Group, PPG, Apoc, GA Telesis, Wencor, Tunisavia, Global Engine Maintenance, and Aerorenix.
Among these, GE Aviation Middle East, North Africa, East Europe/CIS, and Tunisavia expressed their confidence in developing a collaborative relationship with TURBOMECANICA.
In addition, contacts were made with the Commercial Director of myTechnic, and discussions with Aeroplex Hungary continued.
On the final day of the event, TURBOMECANICA attended the conference sessions Regional Challenges & The Future and Digitalisation and Efficiency in MRO, featuring speakers such as Aeroplex CEO Arpad Demeny, FL Technics Deputy CEO for Production Management – Base Maintenance Juozas Lapeika, and SVP IT Turkish Airlines Technology Ahmet Coskun. Discussions were also held with representatives from Turkish Technic, myTechnic, and FL Technics.
During the event, a tour of Turkish Technic’s facilities (hangars) was organized. Over the course of 4 hours, two Turkish Technic hangars at Sabiha Gokcen Airport were visited. The Turkish Technic facilities at Sabiha Gokcen Airport cover a total enclosed area of 380,000 m² and have the capacity to provide maintenance services for 3 widebody and 11 narrowbody aircraft.
With a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certificate, the Sabiha Gokcen Facilities operate in an environmentally friendly manner, alongside ongoing zero-waste and renewable energy projects. Sabiha Gokcen Facilities is an MRO complex that meets clients’ A-to-Z needs with over 30 workshops fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
Participation in the MRO BEER fair meant close contact with companies already active in the external MRO market for CFM 56-7B components. Efforts were also made to secure external clients/partners to supply civil engine parts, supporting entry into the CFM 56-7B repair segment.
The most direct result of the event: a planned visit to the GE Aviation factory within the next two months.
TURBOMECANICA’s visibility in the MRO market has started to grow, especially due to participation in such events in recent years. Although a new player in the market, it is clear that the name TURBOMECANICA is no longer completely unknown, and representatives of industry-related companies have started to recognize the name and show increasing interest in the company.
