Turbomecanica s.a.
Between February 27 and March 3, 2023, the TURBOMECANICA delegation traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the major international event dedicated to the MRO segment, known as MRO Middle East.
MRO Middle East is the largest event of its kind in the Middle East, where airlines, MRO organizations, OEMs, lessors, suppliers, and industry experts came together to explore and define trends in the global aviation maintenance industry. MRO Middle East was co-located with Aircraft Interiors Middle East, allowing participants to discover the latest technology, learn from industry experts, and expand their business networks. In total, over 150 exhibitors and 4,000 participants attended the event.
The event itself served as a hub for B2B meetings, similar to MRO Europe.
At the same time, MRO Middle East provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices, share experiences, debate issues and challenges, and gather knowledge specific to the ever-evolving aviation industry.
The event also offered valuable insight into the key concerns and challenges faced by the industry. MRO Middle East created unparalleled networking opportunities, serving as a venue for companies to form new relationships, reconnect with business partners, and meet providers of solutions and services from across the Middle East region.
For this event, a strategy was employed to divide exhibitors into two categories of interest, in order to more precisely target each group’s needs:
a) Stockists of CFM rotatable parts and accessories, to whom the repair of the CFM oil pump was primarily offered, and secondarily the repair of parts;
b) CFM repairers, to whom the repair of parts was primarily offered, and secondarily the repair of the oil pump.
Representatives of key partners with whom TURBOMECANICA will collaborate in the CFM56 factory project—and who contributed to the realization of this project—were contacted. These include: Marin Rosich from Rhinestahl, Mohamed Al-Sheahabi and Nada Ramez from GE Aviation, and Thorsten Glueckselig from Ramco.
Marin Rosich, together with his colleagues, expressed continued interest in visiting Turbomecanica to explore a potential collaboration for the manufacturing of CFM56 tooling.
Regarding tooling manufacturing—this time for LEAP tooling—we were contacted by AGSE (GE-authorized for CFM and LEAP tools and equipment). They expressed interest in signing an NDA between our companies. We also spoke with exhibitors next to the Turbomecanica stand, IAI, who are CFM repairers but lack capabilities for oil pump repairs.
The Turbomecanica stand was visited by the Consul General of Romania in the UAE, Nicoleta-Loredana TEODOROVICI, as previously arranged by email. She was impressed and pleased with Turbomecanica’s presence in this part of the world and expressed willingness to support our promotional efforts in the Gulf region.
During the two days of the exhibition, we held discussions with several exhibitors and visitors, including:
Avioparts – Spain, Future Metals, Ireland Alloys, RBK Aviation, AJW Group, Collins Aerospace,
Leki Aviation, AirAl, Continental Air Support
By participating in MRO Middle East, we were able to engage closely with companies already active in the Middle Eastern market and maintain contact with potential future partners and equipment suppliers for the new CFM56-7B repair facility. Additionally, we continued the promotional campaign for the factory, its existing and future capabilities, as well as for the ongoing ecruiser project.
