Between March 5–6, 2024, the TURBOMECANICA delegation traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the major international event dedicated to the MRO sector, called MRO MIDDLE EAST 2024.
MRO Middle East is a two-day exhibition held annually at the Dubai World Trade Center.
The event is the largest in the region and represents the most important platform for anyone looking to expand their network and conduct business in the commercial aviation aftermarket.
This year, the event brought together 7,500 participants and 247 exhibitors under one roof—an international exhibition featuring suppliers from all levels of the airline supply chain, along with aircraft interior specialists.
MRO Middle East is the largest event of its kind in the Middle East, where airlines, MRO organizations, OEMs, lessors, suppliers, and industry experts came together to explore and define trends in the global aviation maintenance industry. MRO Middle East was co-located with Aircraft Interiors Middle East, allowing participants to discover the latest technologies, learn from industry experts, and grow their business networks.
The event served as a hub for B2B meetings and offered an opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices, share experiences, debate current challenges, and gain knowledge specific to the ever-evolving aviation industry.
Likewise, the event provided valuable insights into the industry’s key issues and concerns. MRO Middle East created unmatched networking opportunities, offering a venue for companies to build new relationships, reconnect with business partners, and meet suppliers of solutions and services from across the Middle East region.
Over the course of the two-day event, the TURBOMECANICA delegation engaged in discussions with various exhibitors and visitors—both at their own booth and at those of other companies such as TMG Avia GmbH and Alton Aviation Consultancy.
The acquisition of a CFM56-7B engine was one of the primary objectives of the delegation, and efforts were mainly focused in that direction.
Due to TURBOMECANICA’s PART 145 certification and its involvement in research and development projects, the company also attracted interest from young professionals, who inquired about employment or internship opportunities.
Also leveraging the Part-145 certification, a meeting was held with Darius Klimavičius from TMG Avia GmbH, who expressed interest in the possibility of repairing CFM56 parts at TURBOMECANICA. At the time of this report, a FCC (Fixed Cost Contract) is being prepared for quoting the repair of a CFM part for this company.
At this event, the connection with Alton Aviation Consultancy was reestablished through a meeting with Jonathan Berger. He was asked to provide an updated version of the Business Plan previously developed by Alton for TURBOMECANICA, this time based on updated assumptions that accurately reflect the company’s current development plans.
Regarding the acquisition of a training engine, TURBOMECANICA representatives contacted AJW, owner of CFM56-7B engine serial number 896258, and established contact with Ian Wray (Business Development Manager – Major Assets) and Wasim Akhtar (Director of Engines). They later confirmed via email that TURBOMECANICA would be invited to participate in a bidding process once the engine becomes available.
Several representatives from companies distributing aviation parts and/or materials, as well as companies specializing in aviation parts logistics, visited the TURBOMECANICA booth.
The booth was also visited by Mr. Titus Tintean, advisor to the Romanian Consul in the UAE. During this meeting, the delegation received assurances that consular representatives would inquire with local companies about the potential purchase of a CFM56 engine.
A follow-up meeting was also held with Rhinestahl, a company that manufactures CFM56 tooling. TURBOMECANICA presented updates to its CFM development plan to Rhinestahl representative Martin Rosich, who reiterated his company’s interest in collaborating with TURBOMECANICA at the appropriate time.
TURBOMECANICA is becoming increasingly well-known in the MRO market. At this exhibition, 98 individuals—both exhibitors and visitors—stopped by the booth, where we initiated discussions and continued the promotion campaign for the factory and the existing and future capabilities of TURBOMECANICA
